Before arriving at the JES, Christine worked in the nonprofit sector for several years in Erie and Juneau, Alaska. At the office she manages a variety of tasks, believes in the power of a well-written thank you note, and values intangible traits in the workplace. She is a graduate of Edinboro University with a double major in Women's Studies and Anthropology. After graduating, Christine served in AmeriCorps as a VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) and as a VISTA Leader. Volunteering with the American Red Cross took her to New Orleans and St. Croix to provide disaster reief after massive hurricanes impacted those communities. Her leisure activities include striving for social justice and equity, participating in a Beastie Boys book group, and telling her beloved Bichon, Nu, that he is a good boy.
