Creating Engaged and Energized Public Spaces in Downtown Erie

 

Learn about the importance of public space in a post-pandemic world and how we can reimagine public space for a new generation of residents, visitors, and businesses. We'll discuss how public space impacts both economic vibrancy and quality of life. And we'll explore ways public spaces in downtown are being considered for transformation. 

*Please note: the lecture is free, but we ask you to register 24 hours before the event if you are purchasing a lunch. There will not be extras available for purchase at the lecture. You are welcome to bring your own lunch as well. Thank you for understanding!

Emily Fetcko, B.S. & Dave Tamulonis, B.S. 

Emily Fetcko, B.S., is the CEO of Erie Downtown Partnership. She has 20 years of community and economic development experience and works across the community to marry opportunity with resources writing grants that have contributed $1.6 million toward downtown revitalization in Erie. She has led downtown public art projects that included collaborations with refugees, English as a Second Language students, minority artists, and educators.  Emily has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Public Relations.  She represents the region as a board member of the Pennsylvania Downtown Center.

Dave Tamulonis, B.S., is the Events and Marketing manager at Erie Downtown Partnership. A recent transplant to Erie, Dave’s diverse background in community development includes work with a community neighborhood organization as well as an organizer of community projects, including working as a public art muralist. He oversees a diverse schedule of events in downtown Erie and serves on several community boards and committees. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.
