Landmark: Erie's Bicentennial Tower

But the tower project's backers, planners, architects, engineers, construction workers, and others overcame hurdles – in record time – to erect what now stands as a symbol of pride and possibility for a true gem of a city. Patrick (Lou) Richards, M.A., is the owner of L.R. Production, a studio dedicated to making important documentary films about Erie’s rich history. He produced and directed the recent documentary Landmark: Erie’s Bicentennial Tower that is appearing in WQLN PBS’s series “Iconic America: Our Symbols and Stories with David Rubenstein”. He has been an award-winning Television Producer and Director for almost 50 years. In the 70s and 80s, Lou worked for WQLN-TV and WICU-TV as Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Videographer, and Lighting Director. Lou taught Video Studies at Allegheny College and has a master’s degree from Penn State University.
