Perry 200 Commemoration to Unveil Souvenir Book at Luncheon

ERIE, PA. (December 5, 2013) — The Perry 200 Commemoration still has one final matter to take care of before riding off in the sunset. The Jefferson Educational Society has scheduled one last Perry 200 Commission meeting luncheon to wrap-up the two-year celebration, and to unveil the Perry 200 Souvenir Book.

The Perry 200 will hold their final Commission meeting luncheon at the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel (55 West Bay Drive, Erie, PA 16507) on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at noon. The final luncheon brings the Perry 200 Commemoration full-circle and back to where it all started, as the first kick-off luncheon was held 18 months earlier on June 30, 2011 at the Sheraton as well. Invited to this luncheon are members of the Perry 200 Commission, as well as Perry 200 sponsors, advertisers, and other individuals who played an essential role in the success of the Commemoration. The luncheon attendance is expected to be approximately 150.

One of the highlights of this final luncheon is the unveiling of the commemorative Perry 200 Souvenir Book. The 9 inch-by 11-inch hardbound book is 164 pages long, with approximately 200 photos from the history of the Niagara, as well as the Perry 200 events held in 2012 and 2013. Additionally, the book uniquely showcases company history ads of 28 significant organizations in Erie. The Perry 200 Souvenir Book will be sold exclusively at the Erie Maritime Museum’s gift shop, located at 150 East Front Street, Erie, PA 16507. The book will be sold at a regular price of $15, and Flagship Niagara League members can purchase the book for only $12. The price was kept low so that as many citizens as possible could purchase this special publication.

Additionally, as the Perry 200 closes, the Commemoration intends to give all its records and materials to the Erie County Historical Society for their archives.
