Lionel S. Lewis (A.B., Washington University; M.A., Cornell University; Ph.D., Yale University) is professor emeritus of sociology, SUNY/Buffalo. His academic honors include membership in Phi Beta Kappa, a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship, and a Social Sciences Research Council Faculty Grant. He is the author of 6 books and the author or co-author of 135 research articles, essays, and reviews.
