Doug Morehead, B.A. Doug Morehead was salutatorian at Harbor Creek High School, and a graduate from Penn State University in 1956 with a degree in pomology. He was the first chairman of the State Grape Marketing Council, which developed the legislative proposal that became the Pa. Limited Winery Act in 1968. He was the founder, director, and past president of the Pa. Winery Association, and national director for the National Grape Co-op. Also, Mr. Morehead was an adjunct professor in the culinary department at Mercyhurst University Northeast. He is currently a director of Wine America and the Pa. Marketing Board. Doug introduced the growing of vinifera grapes to Lake Erie, and is currently the vice president of Presque Isle Wine Cellars, having turned the business over to his son. Doug and his wife Marlene currently reside in North East, Pa.
