Jay Cost, Ph.D., is the Gerald R. Ford Senior Nonresidential Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and a Visiting Scholar at Grove City College. Previously, he wrote for the Weekly Standard. He is the author of four books, most recently James Madison: America's First Politician. His upcoming book for AEI Press is tentatively titled the Logic of the Constitution, and examines how the Constitution was meant to function. He lives in Zelienople Pa with his wife, two kids, and one very spoiled cat.
