Winston Chu, M.D.

Winston Chu, MD, is a plastic surgeon and author of “REBORN: Journeys from the Abyss” was born in colonial Burma and grew up in immediate post-independence period when parliamentary democracy reigned. His idyllic early years were interrupted by political turmoil following the seizure of power by a socialist-military dictatorship. His immigration to the United States on his father’s advice and contacts made during World War II in the Burma-China-India theatre. His struggles and survival in Socialist Burma and in the USA as an immigrant during the 1970s as well as triumph over several life-threatening conditions formed the abyss of his life.
