Programming at the Jefferson Educational Society

The Jefferson Educational Society offers different programs during the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall terms. Some of the past and current programs include the Global Summit, Metro 100, Brock Institute Lectures, Community Conversations, Jefferson Satellite programs, and other special programs.

Programming has been a cornerstone of the Jefferson Educational Society since its beginning. From the launch of the annual Global Summit, which itself grew from a two-and-half day series to one spread over six weeks, to the total of annual events to over 100, to the launch of the Satellite Programming initiative throughout Erie County, to the more than 200 digital programs livestreamed and broadcasted to the public during the pandemic and ongoing, JES programming continues to expand in an effort to make our events more accessible to the community in new ways.

Rev. Charles Brock Tribute Program

Dear Friends,

I am writing to invite you to a special event at the Jefferson Educational Society on Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. in celebration of the life of Rev. Charles Brock.

This event is dedicated to honoring the memory and legacy of one of the Jefferson Educational Society’s founders and the "Godfather" of the JES. Brock Institute interim Director, Dr. Andrew Roth, will lead discussion, and we will all join in to celebrate Rev. Brock through singing songs that he loved.

Rev. Brock's passing in November 2023 left a profound impact on the JES, its supporters, and the Erie regional community. His inspirational message to "work passionately for justice, education, and democracy" continues to resonate deeply.

Throughout his life, Rev. Brock embodied these principles as a teacher, minister, lecturer, leader, and friend. Join us as we reflect on his remarkable contributions and discuss how his legacy will shape the future endeavors of the Jefferson Educational Society.

This event promises to be a meaningful and inspiring occasion, and we would be honored to have you join us. Following the program, we invite you to stay and mingle over drinks and appetizers.

Your presence would mean a great deal to us as we pay tribute to Rev. Brock and his enduring impact on not only the JES, but our community. Please register for the event here.

Thank you for considering our invitation. We look forward to seeing you at the event.

Yours in friendship,

Ferki Ferati, Ed.D.
